Ncojane Magosi share spoils

13 Oct 2019

Ncojane Young Stars FC and Mochudi Centre Chiefs played to a one-all draw in a highly charged Debswana First Division South league encounter played at the SSG Grounds in Gaborone on Saturday.

Bagging their second point since the league’s commencement was a morale booster for the struggling Kgalagadi side who entered the game as the underdogs given their opponents’ history.

Already, Magosi have shown their desire to bounce back to the elite league.

So far, Magosi has played five games; winning three and two draws.

The weekend encounter was Ncojane’s second draw and it seem they are not only struggling on the field, but with other logistics too, as they travel long distances almost every weekend to honour their fixtures.

On the weekend encounter, the team’s administrators decided to host Magosi in Gaborone, the move, which worked as they managed a draw and also played in front of  a sizeable crowd.

Following the two draws, Magosi, which enjoyed a short stint at the top of the log by winning their first three games, are now relegated to the second spot after being toppled by Uniao flamingo Santos.

The kgatleng giants’ consecutive draws have unsettled their followers who are skeptical if their favourite team could find its way up.

Some attribute their not so convincing performance to loosing their coach, Oris Radipotsane to Jwaneng galaxy.

The first Division South league promises to be exciting given the number of teams that have shown the hunger for promotion to the elite league.

Some football pundits predict a tight finish come the end of the season especially that teams such as Red Sparks too have started the league well and have shown that they are not pushovers. ENDS
