Women football games continue

Six women’s teams will battle it out during the Gaborone Region women league billed for Lekidi football pitch this weekend.
A battle of the titans is expected between Prisons X1 and Double Action on Sunday, given the duo’s prowess.
The duo’s meet is a marvel to watch as they have a tendency of tugging each, with the winner winning by a slight margin. Both teams houses finest players who are also national team players.
Double Action’s Bonang ‘Bebeto’ Otlhagile, also the national team captain, will go neck to neck with her vice-captain, Nondi Mahlasela who plays for Prisons XI.
The game is crucial to both coaches and the players as bragging rights are at stake.
Prisons X1 coach, Quelch Moroke said despite some few injuries in his camp, they were prepared to face their nemesis on Sunday.
He said both Mahlasela and Golebaone Selebatso were complaining of injuries, adding that they would monitor the situation and see how it was progressing.
“All in all I can say, we are an oiled machine, ready to face Double Action.
Based on our performance during friendly games without national team players, I am confident to say my players are looking forward to meeting Double Action,” he said.
Double Action coach, Agreement Podi equally said they were prepared for Prisons X1, as they had been preparing very well.
“Prisons is one team that always gives us sleepless nights when we are pitted against them.
They are a good side with good players, but nonetheless we have prepared well for the game,” he said.
According to Podi, his side was free from injuries and all players were ready to face the warders on Sunday.
In other games to be played on Saturday, FC Ambassadors will play against UB Kicks, Township Rollers will battle it out against Genorah and Untouchable will play against Security Systems, while Big Sisters face Wonder Girls.
On Sunday, Gaborone United takes on Vicomates. ENDS
