The Mabesekwa Clinic has recorded low cases of Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STIs) and HIV/AIDS since the beginning of theyear.
Speaking in an interview, senior registered nurse at the clinic, Mr Praise Ndaba said residents of Mabesekwa adhered to medical check-ups and advice from health officials.
He also said the clinic has never recorded cases of defaulting on anti retro viral drugs (ARV) by HIV positive patients.
He said residents were utilising the clinics resources wisely and also tested for HIV/AIDS in large numbers.
On other issues, Mr Ndaba decried shortage of staff as a concern, adding that the clinic was operating with only two nurses.
He urged government to increase the number of nurses in the clinic.
Mr Ndaba said lack of accommodation for nurses in the settlement was also a challenge as some nurses declined transfers to areas where there was no accommodation.
He pleaded with government to build more staff houses for nurses so that more nurses could be posted to the settlement. ENDS
