Tafic player dies

Tafic's player, Molebatsi Kangangwani, died in a road accident in the early hours of Independence Day.

Club chairperson, Carlos Sebina, confirmed the tragedy, but could not be drawn into discussing the matter in detail since it was still new.

Sebina said Kangangwani, who donned Jersey 17 was a player of note who played for Machimenyenga for a long time before he succumbed to a knee injury in 2017.

He said since then, Kangangwani was on always on the bench until his untimely death. He was instrumental in the team's elevation to the elite league

Meanwhile, Tutume police station commander, Superintendent Jerry Halahala said in an interview that the police received a report of the road accident in Nkange in the early hours of Monday.

He said the player was rushed to a health facility where he was certified dead.

Superintendent Halahala said preliminary investigations showed that the deceased, who hails from Nkange, might have lost control of the vehicle leading to the accident. ENDS
