Education is key to learners’ future, and such success can be achieved through hard work, determination and perseverance by pupils.
This was said by Mr Keobokile Rankolanyana, a former pupil of Lotlhakane Primary School, when donating school uniform, a computer, printer and stationery on September 19.
Mr Rankolanyana completed his Standard Seven in the same school in 1986 and did his tertiary studies at Washington University in America, and is now a Bio-Medical engineer.
He said he saw it important to donate to his former school, which he described as a foundation for his success story to show love and to encourage students to do more in their education.
He advised them to refrain from drug abuse and to focus on their education.
Mr Rankolanyana mentioned that a computer donation was to encourage the use of technology to speed up the process of learning, adding that excellent performance was not only determined by schools infrastructure/equipment, but also by learners’ determination to learn and the zeal to produce good academic marks.
School head Ms Cynthia Seelo said they were appreciative and thankful to Rakolanyana’s parents for raising not only an intelligent, but a man with a good heart.
She said the school was faced with water shortage challenges, which impacted on school business and student learning.
Further, she said the school performance had improved from 48 per cent to 75 per cent from 2016 to 2018.
She said she trusted that the donation would encouraged and motivated all, resulting in an improved performance. Ends
