Sehithwa Service Centre construction to commence
03 Sep 2019
The Assistant Minister of Basic Education, Mr Thato Kwerepe, says construction of the long awaited Sehithwa Service Centre will start soon.
Speaking at a kgotla meeting in Sehithwa recently, Mr Kwerepe, who is also the Ngami area MP, said the service centre construction was part of development goals for the Ngami constituents.
He told residents that he was hopeful the service centre project would be completed within time although it took long to commence.
Mr Kwerepe said the centre was critical since Sehithwa was strategically located between Maun and Ghanzi.
He said other villages around Sehithwa would benefit from the services provided at the centre.
On other matters, he said maintenance of the primary school in Sehithwa was underway.
As part of his social responsibility, Mr Kwerepe said he has donated full school uniforms to all students at the primary school.
An official from Maun Administration Authority office of the Senior Assistant Council Secretary, Ms Pedzani Mahama informed the residents that the construction of their Service Centre was planned to start in two weeks.
Ms Mahama said a contractor would be on site to commence construction of the facilities. She said the council experienced challenges in sourcing materials for the construction, hence the delay in starting the project. ENDS
