53-year-old man survives buffalo attack

Kasane police are investigating an incident in which a 53-year-old man was seriously injured by a buffalo on August 26 around 3:50 pm.
In an interview with Superintendent James Maabong said the man was taken to Kasane Primary Hospital where he was referred to Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital with serious abdominal injuries .
He said police received a report from Cresta Mowana Lodge security officers that there was a man who was attacked by the animal on the Chobe River banks.
He said it is suspected that the man who originates from Etsha 13 went to the river to fetch water.
Supt Maabong said the buffalo could not be found and investigations on the matter are ongoing.
He implored the public to be vigilant and desist from going to the river alone as animals also go there to drink water. Ends
