Three Botswana pugilists have advanced to the next stage after winning their preliminary bouts at the ongoing 12th Africa games in Rabat, Morocco. 

Mmusi Tswiigi won on technical knockout with injury against Silva Carlos in the 69 kg category.   Mohammed 'Rajab' Otukile won with unanimous decision against Nestor Thomas of Namibia in the 52kg bout.

Pitso Mmopiemang won 3-1 against John Browne in the 63 kg bout.

However, George Molwantwa  failed to prove his mettle against Mokhoto Moroke of Lesotho.  He lost his 57kg bout 3-2.

Batswana women boxers are scheduled to compete in their preliminary fights this weekend.  Keamogetse Kenosi will face Widad Bertal on August 24 .  Aratwa Kasemang will face Diallo Marietuo 60Kg of Senegal on August 25.

However, Lethabo Modukanele awaits her opponent in the quarterfinals of the 51kg category.  ENDS
