Bishop Raseokamo obedient leader - Seretse

18 Aug 2019

Member of Parliament for Lentsweletau-Mmopane Mr Vincent Seretse has described Bishop Michael Raseokamo as an obedient person fit for his role as a leader of Pisidia Faith Mission Church.

Speaking at the ordination of Bishop Raseokamo in Mmopane on August 17, Mr Seretse said he had worked with the new clergyman for many years, saying that the bishop  had chosen the right path in life as he had always displayed the character of a priest.

Previously, Bishop Raseokamo worked as an administration officer in the Lentsweletau-Mmopane constituency office.

“Like in Romans 12:8-10, Rev Raseokamo has a gift of encouraging others and has held tightly to what is good,” he said.

Mr Seretse said he believed the bishop would continue with the good deeds as he led people of God to salvation.

He urged him to exercise authority to the church without fear or favour of human beings but only God.

The MP, who is also the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing Development further said Bishop Raseokamo would exhibit the character of the chosen one and that he would make sure that the church grows within and outside the country.

“I would like to urge him to make sure that the church grows not only in numbers, but in faith.

The church should be a corner stone of any society or nation,” he said.

For his part, Archbishop Sekaba Letsholo of St Paul Church in Old Naledi, Gaborone, said he saw Bishop Raseokamo’s spiritual growth.

At the time, Bishop Raseokamo was not a member of any church and spent most of his days drowning his sorrows on alcohol and smoking, but upon being introduced to St Paul, he turned his life around and never looked back, he said.

He was baptised by Archbishop Letsholo and ordained a priests by the late Archbishop Moloi and through his spiritual journey, he was later made a reverend.

One of his friends, Evangelist Patrick Motshoge, who spoke about their wayward behaviour back then, urged Bishop Raseokamo to remain strong in faith, saying the devil did not respect any man of God.

He said he received Jesus as his personal saviour in 1985 when he joined the Assemblies of God.

Bishop Raseokamo was born in August 12, 1960 and joined the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) in 1979, whereupon he retired as a captain in 2014. He has many qualifications among them a Certificate in Theology obtained from Kgolagano College of Theological Education, Diploma in Gospel and Advanced Diploma in Theology.ENDS
