 The initiative to sell both sexed and ordinary dairy cattle semen to dairy farmers at subsidised price is undertaken throughout the country.

Assistant Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, Mr Konstantinos Markus said the initiative targeted farmers and was continuing until today. He said no farmer in Good Hope-Mabule area has been assisted with semen as they had not shown interest in the technology.

He said the dairy semen initiative has been extended to South East, North East, North West, Kgatleng, Ghanzi and Central districts where 18 farmers had participated in the initiative. Good Hope-Mabule MP, Kgosi Lotlamoreng II had asked the minister how many farmers in the Good Hope-Mabule area were assisted with semen from milk bulls project which was promised in 2016. He also wanted to know which parts of Botswana the project had been extended to. ENDS
