The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry is not considering setting up a Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) office in Nata due to budgetary constraints.

Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Mr Kabo Gare said  businesses in Nata and surrounding areas were assisted from the LEA office in Masunga.

To augment the service, Mr Gare said LEA periodically conducted outreach activities and mobile stops to areas where there were no LEA offices such as Nata-Gweta in order to create awareness and to bring services closer to clients.

He said a satellite office for Nata-Gweta would be considered in future. The MP for Nata-Gweta, Mr Polson Majaga had asked if the ministry would consider setting up a LEA office in Nata given that businesses in the area, especially youth businesses and the tourism sector needed their services.ENDS
