Matlhaku new Botswana envoy to Zambia

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has appointed Mr Alpheus Matlhaku Botswana’s high commissioner to Zambia.
According to a press release issued by Office of the President, Mr Matlhaku brings to the foreign service a wealth of experience and knowledge spanning over 30 years.
It says Mr Matlhaku has worked for government from 1976 in various professional capacities. He joined the civil service as an economist in the then Ministry of Finance and Development Planning rising to the position of employment coordinator and secretary to the National Employment, Manpower and Incomes Council (NEMIC).
The high commissioner designate has also served as under secretary in the Office of the President and was later promoted to the position of deputy permanent secretary in the same ministry.
He also served as deputy permanent secretary in the then Ministry of Works, Transport and Communications and later as clerk of the National Assembly.
Mr Matlhaku is expected to take up his appointment next month.
He replaces Mr Lebonaamang Mokalake who retired early this year. Ends
