Ministry does not have current registry

During the last registry count in 2018 the membership of Faith Based Organisations stood at approximately 494 092.
The Assistant Minister of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs Mr Ngaka Ngaka told Parliament that the ministry does not have a readily available registry of the current membership but recognised the need for an up to date register of societies hence the inclusion of registration of societies in the ministry’s upcoming IT system, which was currently at the PPADB for invitation to tender approval.
He said the ministry had registered 2 326 christian, 13 muslim, six Hindu, two Sikh and one Bahai organisations.
Nkange MP Mr Edwin Batshu had asked the minister to state the number of registered Faith Based Organisations in Botswana and their various categories. Ends
