Government consults on Land Policy

23 Jul 2019

Parliament has been told that the Ministry of Land Management, Water and Sanitation Services has been consulting on the amendments of the matters arising from implementation of the  Land Policy of 2015, particularly the issue of allocation of plots to those whose spouses already own plots.

According to Assistant Minister Itumeleng Moipisi, the consultations were done with a view to holistically address all issues that needed amendment of the Land Policy instead of a piece meal approach. He said the amendment had been submitted to be tabled in the current Parliament session.

Mr Moipisi was responding to a question from  Francistown South MP, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi, who had asked the minister to state when the Land Policy would be reviewed to allow allocation of plots to those whose spouses already had plots.  ENDS
