VP hails Dianga as a nation builder

The Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane has described the late Mr Tshwenyego Dianga as a nation builder and a social engineer.

Mr Tsogwane was speaking at a funeral ceremony to pay the last respects to Mr Dianga who was a staunch member of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) in Rakops on Saturday.

He said the deceased was a peace maker, a developer and truthful leader who actively participated in community developments.

Mr Tsogwane implored the youth to emulate Mr Dianga and continue where he left off in developing the village.

His said Mr Dianga dedicated his valuable time towards moving the country forward. Mr Dianga met his untimely demise after collapsing at a political rally hosted by

Umbrella for Democratic Change and Botswana Patriotic Front in Rakops last week.

BDP Youth League deputy secretary Mr Batsweletse Kgagamedi said they lost a soldier who fought to ensure that his party remained intact. He described him as an advisor who contributed immensely in growing the footprint of BDP.

Mr Kgagamedi said they were going to work hard to ensure that they fulfilled Mr Dianga’s expectations in the coming general elections.

Village Development Committee chairperson, Ms Bashingi Boingotlo said Mr Dianga had made significant contributions of ideas during kgotla meetings. As a member of cooperative society in Rakops he assisted the cooperative with his expertise in book-keeping.

The Deceased’s son Mr Judas Dianga said he received the sad news of the passing on of his father through his mother who said he had collapsed at a political rally.

Speakers praised the deceased and said his passing on was a huge loss to the nation at large. ENDS
