About 158 refugees integrated into society 18 being considered

There are at least 158 refugees who have been integrated into society, says Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Shaw Kgathi.

Mr Kgathi told Parliament recently that the number comprised 80 males and 78 females. He said his ministry, together with Ministry of Nationality, Immigration and Gender Affairs were currently processing 18 recommendations for refugees’s integration.

Mr Kgathi said the refugees comprised of a family of 13 from Zimbabwe, two from Angola, one from Rwanda, one from Morocco and one from Sierra Leone.

The MP for Nkange, Mr Edwin Batshu had asked the minster to state the number of refugees and stateless persons from Dukwi Refugee camp who had been integrated into society, with details of their gender and countries of origin. Ends
