1 464 farmers affected by wildlife

Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Frans Van Der Westhuizen has informed Parliament that there were no reported incidents of ploughing fields that were destroyed by wildlife since January this year to date. Instead, he said that there were 1 464 farmers whose fields were ‘considerably affected, but not completely destroyed during the same period.’
He was responding to a question in Parliament from Nkange MP, Mr Edwin Batshu, who had asked the minister to state the number of farmers whose ploughing fields were completely destroyed by wildlife from January 2019 to date. ENDS
