11 Jul 2019
Shakawe magistrate, Ms One Machiba, says her office will always give back to the community when the need arises.
Speaking at the handing over of school uniform to Shakawe Primary School recently, Ms Machiba said the magistrate court did not only maintain peace and order in the village, but also geared to help the people of Shakawe.
“Our team has been raising funds to fulfil our societal obligations. One of the reasons being, we have realised the kind of region we are living in,” she said.
She said they also fully comprehended that government had released empowerment programmes, but it took time for one to be assisted, “therefore we found it fit to buy these children school uniform as the future of our country lies upon them”.
Ms Machiba said for children to learn properly, they had to be warm.
The Shakawe Magistrate Court donated 40 uniforms and P250 for the school’s prize giving.
Ms Memory Kenalemang, a guidance and counselling teacher, said it was imperative for a child to be healthy in body, mind and soul.
Therefore, her department primarily taught life skills and the welfare of a child as a whole.
She also noted that they worked hand in hand with social workers to assist parents on how to co-relate with their children.ENDS
