Arone salutes Sepopa primary

Minister of Basic Education, Mr Bagalatia Arone, says hard work and dedication led to Sepopa Primary School’s sterling performance in last year’s Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE).
Mr Arone, also Okavango MP, commended the school for its 77.2 per cent pass rate in the Gumare Sub-region during a victory celebration in Sepopa on Tuesday 9.
He stated that cordial working relations between parents, teachers and pupils was key in achieving excellent results.
Mr Arone said it was motivating to witness schools performing well while the ministry was busy advocating for an improved package.
The minister said for teachers to achieve results, they should go an extra mile.
Minister Arone also urged parents to continue playing a role in their children’s education stressing that the first classroom should be home.
Parents were also urged to instill discipline in their children so that they show respect to the school authorities.
He appreciated government efforts to improve schools menu.
Mr Arone urged parents not to leave their children behind when going to church so that they could learn the good ways and practice them.
“This is very imperative because they will grow into responsible citizens of tomorrow and it will also go a long way in improving the results of their school work as well,” he said.
The Okavango MP encouraged the former pupils to maintain the good work and double their efforts in junior and secondary education.
The school head, Ms Kerapetse Letswee, said the school would not have achieved its mark if not for the mutual understanding between teachers, parents and pupils.
She said they all agreed to study extra hours and pitched on weekends without fail.
Ms Letswee appreciated the parents involvement, adding that their’ unwavering support and cooperation made it possible.
The school attained 12As, 14Bs, 18Cs and nine Ds respectively. ENDS
