Bible Life Ministries appreciates teachers hard work

Bible Life Ministries in Lobatse has honoured teachers for developing the society.
The church paid tribute to teachers on July 7 and gave them hampers as a token of appreciation. About 50 teachers from schools in Lobatse and surrounding villages benefitted from the initiative.
Reverend Rodney Mazani said teachers deserved praise for being committed to educating and moulding children into responsible citizens, despite the criticism they often get for poor results in schools.
He said pupils should have more respect for teachers and stop using alcohol and drugs to be able to perform better at school.
Ms Chippo Mazani, who is one of the church leaders, said teachers had been largely unacknowledged by the society.
“Today as Bible Life in Lobatse we have decided to be different and celebrate our teachers and the good work that they are doing. Teachers spend time more than we do with our kids, but we never come back to say thank you,” said Ms Mazani.
She said teachers should be held in high esteem because they produced professionals in the society, such as doctors and nurses.
She said teachers created the future, build the foundation for moral values and nurture children with their love.
“No matter how much we grow the lessons taught by our teachers can never be forgotten,” she said.
Tsopeng North ward councillor, Mr Gofaone Kedise, commended Bible Life Ministries in Lobatse for the good gesture.
Mr Kedise also urged teachers to be proud of the work they did because there would not be any profession without teaching.
“It is very much proper for the church to dedicate a day like this one to respect teachers,” he said. ENDS
