Botanical garden to host plant show
07 Jul 2019
The National Botanical Garden, under the Department of National Museum and Monuments, will host a plant show from October 29 to November 3.
A press release from the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism says registration for participation started on July 3 and will end on August 30.
Individual plant nursery owners, private gardeners, excluding vegetable crop nursery owners, interested in participating in this year’s plant show are invited to register at the National Botanical Garden. The show, the release says, seeks to promote conservation of indigenous plant species as well as educate the public about the importance of plants.
It also seeks to provide a market place for local nursery owners, promote networking among plant conversation organisations and further encourage the public to decorate their homes using indigenous plants.
Furthermore, the release states that only indigenous plants will be exhibited.
Participants are advised to register hastily, owing to the limited space which is able to host only 80 stalls, hence the first 80 nursery owners to register will be considered. ENDS
