Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) in collaboration with Khato Civils is constructing a classroom block for reception class at Letsibogo Primary School in Mmadinare.

Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony, WUC general manager for Gaborone management centre, Mr Motshwaedi Mpheke said beyond the company mandate of supplying water, they also looked at the needs of communities and how they could assist.

He noted that recently the company donated exhibition kraals for the Charleshill trade fair.

“We strongly believe in assisting the government’s effort to unleash the potential of our learners and transforming them into competent future leaders,” he said.

He said when properly sheltered, pupils were likely to perform better because a good learning environment advanced the country’s efforts towards building an educated nation.

Mr Mpheke appealed to Mmadinare residents to ensure  that the classrooms were not vandalized, and urged parents and teachers to assist children to achieve their dreams.

For his part, Khato Civils general manager, Mr Ishmael Maposa thanked Mmadinare residents for their support.

He noted that the leadership assisted them to identify projects that could be undertaken in the village.

Mr Maposa said such projects included the clearing of the graveyard and the the building of a classroom block at Letsibogo Primary School.

He applauded Letsibogo Primary School teachers for moulding pupils into well-rounded citizens.
