Government ministries continue to reach out to their customers in the Kweneng District, through coordination of the district commissioner’s office.

Speaking during ‘taking services to people day’ at Malwelwe on July 2, Kweneng District Commissioner, Ms Bernice Berman-Mosime said government encouraged ministries and departments to take services to people, which she said created a platform for government customers to acquire services closer to them, thereby helping those who could not travel to the offices.

The district commissioner further said the residents of Malwelwe should be free to ask anything they did not understand about government services and programmes so that they could  benefit from them. She said government programmes were tailor-made for them and they should apply for them to improve their lives.

Ms Berman-Mosime added that the departments would offer the services the whole day, but those who could not make it would be assisted by the office of the district commissioner.

She also urged residents to go to the polls on election day, revealing that the voters roll was now going through inspection for voters to check their names and ensure they were captured properly.

Ms Berman-Mosime said transfer of voters was also ongoing and those who wished to transfer their votes should visit the IEC office in that district and request for their transfer. In his welcome remarks, Kgosi Bokau Tobe said he was glad that government departments had come to his village for the residents to get services closer to them.

He commended the office of the district commissioner for organising the service day, saying it benefited the people.

Many government departments pitched stalls and provided services among them; Labour and Social Security, Immigration, Information Services, Office of the District Commissioner, Forestry and Range Resources,  Civil and National Registration, District Health Management Team, Botswana Housing Corporation, Citizen Entrepreneurald Development Agency, Independent Electoral Commission and many others. Ends
