Joint police operations to curb stock theft
02 Jul 2019
Cooperation between Botswana Police Service and their South African counterparts will address livestock theft at Herefold in Kgalagadi South.
Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso said this when responding to a question at Ntlo ya Dikgosi from Kgosi David Toto II of Kgalagadi South region.
To enhance the cooperation, she said quarterly cross border meetings were held between the police from both countries.
“In addition, simultaneous operations and information sharing is done on a regular basis,” she said.
Kgosi Toto II wanted to know if the minister was aware that livestock at Hereford was stolen into South Africa, and whether cooperation between Botswana and South Africa bared any fruit. ENDS
