 Museum officials have been placed at the Kasane and Kachikau kgotla’s, responsible for Kasane sites and Kachikau monuments respectively. 

Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso said this when responding to a question from Kgosi Peter Chika of Chobe region. 

“The said officers should equally serve the outside communities of Chobe and Kachikau,” she said.

Ms Tshireletso said she was not aware that museum staff in Chobe did not assist dikgosi on an equal basis, adding that “if there are issues that point to the fact that there are disparities in museum public service delivery, my ministry will be willing to correct such with immediate effect.”

Kgosi Chika wanted to know if the minister was aware that museum staff in Chobe region did not assist dikgosi equally, as they tended to work with some dikgosi whilst neglecting others. 

He also wanted to know how the situation would be addressed. ENDS
