BAA goes to polls tomorrow

One of the better performing sport codes bodies which has displayed the potential to hoist the national flag high in global competition, the Botswana Athletics Association (BAA), will on June 29 elect their board at the Oasis Motel in Tlokweng.
With Batswana athletes displaying good potential in international events over the past decade, and the Olympic Games due next year, the nation will pin their hopes on BAA affiliates to elect to a quality board that can steer the sport to greater heights.
According to the list of nominees for the BAA board communicated by elections director, Mpho Ntuane, different administrators will vie to be part of the committee, with Phaphane Botlhale and Thari Mooketsi seeking to be elected as president.
Kavin Kelaotswe, Rampa Mosweu will face the incumbent Kenneth Kikwe for the vice president-sports development.
Oabona Theetso, Olebogeng Oitebetse and Major Edward David will tussle for vice president-sport administration.
Vice president Finance and administration, pits Sakarea Rebaone and the current BAA secretary general Raymond Phale agaisnt each other.
Despite that only flour slots are available, ten candidates have shown interest in the regional coordinators post. They are Eric Mandawe, Ipolokeng Ramatshaba, Keamogetse Rancholo, Amogelang Masugae, Lebone Moreri, Fidzani Lekgoba, Moses Raphutshe, William Mokwen, and Annah Madisa. ENDS
