Employees in the Ministry of Transport and Communications have been implored to ensure the satisfaction of clients accessing their services.
Addressing employees in Tutume recently, Minister Dorcas Makgato reminded them that their role was to carry out government mandate.
She urged them to help curb corrupt practices which were becoming rife in the public service.
She further emphasised the importance of teamwork, which she said could help them close loopholes.
She said without effective team leaders, most of the plans to improve service delivery would be difficult to achieve.
“You must think outside the box and come up with new innovations which will help transform and improve the ministry,’’ she said.
In response to some issues raised by the employees, she promised that the ministry would find a way to address challenges. Issues raised included lack of accommodation and offices space, communication gaps, shortage of staff, transfers and lack of training and development of staff.
The ministry’s permanent secretary, Mr Kabelo Ebineng urged them to work together and support each other in pursuit of stakeholder satisfaction.
He said the objective of the meeting was to interact and share ideas on how best they can improve service delivery. ENDS
