Two lose lives in Molepolole

18 Jun 2019

Two people, aged 19 and 20, lost their lives early June 17 morning after the Volvo S40 vehicle they were travelling in overturned and fell into a ditch near Legwatagwata shopping complex in Molepolole.

The deceased, reportedly members of the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG), were residents of Lekgwapheng and Magokotswane wards in Molepolole.

Kweneng Traffic Superintendent Tuelo Komanyane told BOPA that the suspicion was that the driver lost control of the vehicle hence the accident.

Superintendent Komanyane noted that the car had a total of six occupants, including the driver, which he said was a clear indication that it was in excess of its carrying capacity.

The other four who sustained injuries received treatment  and were released from the Scottish Livingstone Hospital on the same day.

Their ages range between 19 and 25, he said.

Superintendent Komanyane also made a plea to parents to exercise caution and avoid allowing unlicensed drivers to use cars in order to avoid placing their lives, and those of other people at risk.

Meanwhile, Thamaga Station Commander Superintendent Moses Kwarare said they were on search for unknown men who broke into Kumakwane Primary School storeroom and stole goods worth P20 000 last Friday.

Stolen items, he said were mostly eggs, which were part of the recently revised primary school breakfast menu. ENDS
