Assistant Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry, Mr Karabo Gare will participate at the 31^st Southern African Development Community (SADC) Force (MTF) on Regional Economic Integration.

According to a press release from the ministry, the CMT has oversight on political and strategic implementation of the SADC Trade Agenda.

The 31^st CMT will review implementation of the protocol on trade, including receiving updates on progress of member states who are yet to accede to the protocol and also review progress on the negotiations for trade in services.

The release says the meeting will also include an update for ministers on the implementation of other trade agreements within the region including the EU-SADC-EPA; the WTO Trade Facilitation and the AGOA.

Moreover, the 20^th MTF will review progress on the regional agenda focusing on trade, industry, mining and finance with a view to fast track their implementation, the release says.

It further says the outcomes of the meetings will then be presented to the summit of Heads of States and Government, which is planned for August 2019.

The assistant minister is accompanied by senior government officials and other implementing institutions. ENDS
