OP employees pay tribute to Lingiwe

Employees in the Ministry for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration and senior government officials on June 13 gathered in Gaborone to celebrate the life of  their late colleague, Ms Lingiwe Ramothokgwana.

Speaking at the memorial service, Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration (MOPAGPA) Mr Nonofo Molefhi, urged Office of the President employees to trust in God in such trying times.

Mr Molefhi said the late Ramothokgwana was a respectful, loving and dedicated employee, adding that the ministry had lost an energetic member.

He said while the family had lost one of their own, the entire government had also lost a true civil servant.

For his part, senior manager,  Cooperate Services, Mr Motlhatlosi Ditsile said Ms Ramothokgwana joined the civil service as a typist in 1992 and was later promoted to be a secretary. Mr Ditsile noted that she served under various ministers including Office of the President.

He said she performed her duties diligently and with dedication.  

Family Representative, Mr Banantoko Phirinyane described the deceased as a loving humble daughter in law.

Among those who came to pay tribute were; Vice President Mr Slumber Tsogwane, Assistant Minister for MOPAGPA Mr Ronald Shamukuni, Permanent Secretary to the President Mr Carter Morupisi.

Ms Ramothokgwana, who died after a short illness on June 4, is survived by her husband, four children; two boys and two girls.

She will be buried in Kanye at Mathubapula Ward tomorrow. ENDS
