Team spirit enhances service delivery

10 Jun 2019

Teamwork is critical to productivity, unity and communication.

This was said by the Serowe Administrative Authority (SAA) sub-council chairperson Mr Mpho Kooreme at the opening of the SAA sub-council session in Serowe on June 10.

Mr Kooreme said teamwork could help enhance service delivery, adding that it was used across diverse spheres to increase performance and employee unity.

“Team cohesion can increase workflow as it is the backbone of effective communication.

More energy should, therefore, be invested on positive thinking and taking services to the public,” said Mr Kooreme who is also councillor for Swaneng ward in Serowe. He also encouraged councillors to adhere to the highest standards of diligence and efficiency as a matter of pride and national duty when serving the community. He said when unified, councillors were less likely to be confrontational and would be more receptive to decisions which could benefit government service delivery initiatives.

He said both councillors and public servants needed to strike a balance on how best to work as a team for the good of the country.

Mr Kooreme added that teamwork promoted conversation and cooperation between  councillors and officers.

He explained that working as a team would help come up with long-lasting solutions to the emerging challenges in the implementation of government programmes which were intended to improve the lives of Batswana.ENDS
