Masisis response impresses social media

Social media impressed with Masisi’s responsePresident Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has earned accolades for his Statesmanship as he calmly responded to a heckler who interrupted his keynote speech during the JCK Las Vegas Trade Show last week.
Soon after the President responded, followers of social media commented. This is their response picked randomly:
@Eddy Mushoriwa – I envy Botswana for having such an articulate captain of the ship. He knows how to navigate through the waters. He is good on the international spotlight.
@Mothuselah Obare Onguso – it’s interesting that those who lecture Africa about conservation are those who killed and wiped out all their wildlife populations in their home countries or forced them to migrate because of indiscriminate destruction of wildlife ecosystems.
@Ismail Essop – Well done my president. God bless you in your quest to make Botswana better known for its originality and worth. She is a beautiful and peaceful place. Lets embrace that.
@Mavis Mgosi – Proud to call you our President…putting our country in the map...love the eloquence.
@Henry Mos – he has them eating out of the palm of his hand, his presence is felt heavily, he is not just present, o tsere command of the whole event. I am truly humbled, shine bright like a diamond my black President.
@Miriam Ramapudi – calm and collected. Bravo my President! We do not care about people who value animals more than our people. Please back off from our country.
@Cyprian Ndawana Muketiwa – Congratulations, Tautona I am proud of your articulation. Frankly, you sufficiently dispelled the myth on ivory trade in general and the recent issuance of hunting in particular. Your stately representation was inspiring on one hand and insightful on the other.
This is what the heckler said, “President Masisi how can you say you care about wildlife when you lifted the ban on killing elephants by lifting the ban, you are condoning the culling and murder by locals and foreign trophy hunters on one of the continent’s targeted animals. Not only that, but it is ethically wrong, inhumane, especially where there are proven common sense means in managing human/wildlife conflict, which wouldn’t bring harm to the elephants. Lifting the ban is not the answer, killing the elephants is not the answer.
How can you say you care about wildlife when you are doing this.
This is not the answer. You have blood on your hands! You have blood on your hands!” ENDS
