Wait for proper land allocations -Molao
05 May 2019
Member of Parliament for Shashe West, Mr Fidelis Molao has advised Jamataka residents to wait for proper land allocation.
Mr Molao said this when addressing a kgotla meeting in Jamataka on May 2.
He said slow allocation of land was national, hence the need for people to exercise patience and not take the law into their hands.
Nowadays, Mr Molao said, land had to be mapped and surveyed before allocation, adding that allocating land haphazardly had been expensive for government.
Jamataka’s Kgosi Mosalagae Galebonwe had complained that his village was experiencing an influx of squatters on the outskirts of the village.
He noted that they had seen some people settling in the village without any notification from land board. He said some of the squatters were from the cattle posts of Mosu and Tapana.
He thus appealed to their MP to liaise with the land board to address the situation.
Furthermore, Kgosi Galebonwe lamented that they had long asked land board to allocate plots, but were told to wait for design maps and that plots would be allocated after they had been surveyed.
On other issues, Mr Molao informed residents that their village was going to be electrified this financial year.
He thus implored them to look forward for such developments and not interrupt them.
In addition, he said the P10 million constituency fund would soon be released to council and projects planned for this financial year included the expansion of school classrooms.
A block of two classrooms and one LA2 house would be constructed to address shortage of accommodation for teachers, he said. ENDS
