Citizens of Heaven Church have handed over a house valued at P115 000 to Ms Elizabeth Kalundu of Kazungula.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Machana Shamukuni said the gesture by the church was a step in the direction towards government’s efforts of ensuring decent housing for every Motswana.

Mr Shamukuni said action by Citizens of Heaven Church also demonstrated true love in line with the word of God.

He said the donation did not only go beyond the scriptural teachings, but also demonstrated the spirit of Botho and compassion rooted in society’s moral fibre.

He noted that the house was the second to be donated by the church in Kazungula. The church also donated in Kachikau and Maun. The Assistant Minister donated P2 000 towards water connection for Ms Kalundu.
In his welcome remarks, Kgosi Morgan Makhanga applauded the church for a job well, adding that the church should not be discouraged by those who despised the donation because blessed was the hand that gave than the one that received.

For her part, Ms Kalundu thanked the church and everyone who took part in the project. The house comprises of a combined sitting room, a bedroom and a shower.

The donation package included a pit latrine. ENDS
