The annual selection process for recipients of Botswana honours and awards for 2020 has begun.

A press release from Office of the President says submission of nominations must be submitted to the offices of district commissioners by May 31, 2019.

Eligible and deserving members of the public with outstanding contribution towards national development in different areas, are informed to contact district commissioners’ offices for application procedures.

The categories of the honours awarded, as per the release, are Presidential Order of Honour (PH), being an honour awarded for efficient and devoted service to Botswana.

Other categories are Presidential Order of Meritorious Service (PMS), being an honour awarded to any person/s for actions or services benefiting Botswana or any community or organisation in any particular field or sphere and acts of courage or devotion to duty and Presidential Certificate of Honour (PCH), being a certificate awarded for long and faithful service to Botswana.

Presidential honours are awarded annually in terms of Botswana Honours Act to the most deserving individuals who have made exceptional contribution to the national development agenda. ENDS
