Choppies donates water containers to Molepolole

Some companies and stakeholders have resolved to avail temporary solutions to the water situation in Molepolole.
In pursuit of this, a representative for Choppies Distribution Centre, Mr Jacob Sesinyi, donated five 10 000 litres water containers to Molepolole recently.
Mr Sesinyi said they decided to donate the tanks to the main kgotla for the village leadership to distribute them around the village according to needs.
He said Choppies would construct structures to support the containers, which will be placed at Boswelakoko, Lekgwapheng, Ranta, Botshabelo and Mogogoro wards.
He said the donation was Choppies’ way of appreciating the community for its support and loyalty.
“We are proud to donate these tanks, we have just donated another five tanks to Kanye village, while government is still coming up with measures of permanently curbing the water crisis,” he said.
He implored other businesses and stakeholders to be compassionate with the little they have and not be solely focused on making profits.
He said he was confident and hopeful that the Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) will ensure the tanks are adequately utilised.
For his part, WUC station manager, Mr Seabe Mabua, said they appreciated the tanks since they would augment the ones currently in use.
Mr Mabua stated that even though they tried to address the situation, their efforts were thwarted by some members of the community, who vandalised their property.
He appealed to the community to use the tanks responsibly and not water their livestock from them. Ends
