Residents of Dinokeng villages in the Kgatleng District are set to enjoy a football mania this Easter holidays at Ditshitshiri Grounds in Mmathubudukwane.

The three-day event, which starts April 19 until April 21 would host teams from Oliphant’s drift, Mabalane, Mmathubudukwane, Sikwane, Malolwane and Ramonaka.

In an interview, Dinokeng Soccer mania publicity secretary, Anthony Rasetshwane said the event was meant to strengthen relations between the people of Dinokeng villages by bringing them together to interact as well as identify and groom talent among youngsters.

He said Dinokeng was home of renowned football stars such as Jerome Ramatlhakwane and Jabu Pilane hence the need to motivate youngsters to believe in their talent and groom it.

Furthermore Rasetshwane said participating teams were chosen from football competitions that were held last year.

He said there would be stalls and merchandise available like t-shirts at P90, Golf t-shirts P150, Caps P50, golf caps P60 and Farmers hats P60 at the event.

He said there were prices worth P11 000 to be awarded to participating teams on the last day of the tournament.

Rasetshwane said the winner of the tournament would pockect P5 000 cash prize, whole second prize winner would pocket P2 500 and third prize winner would get P1 500.

Fourth prize winner, he said would pocket P1 000 while fifth and sixth prize winners would get P500 each. Tickets for the event are available at P20 for adults and P10 for kids at Salt and Pepper shop and would also be available at the event. ENDS
