Botswana Energy Regulatory Authority (BERA) is responsible for providing an efficient regulatory framework for the regulated energy sector, including the petroleum sub-sector, according to Botswana Energy Regulatory Authority Act of 2016.

This was said by the Minister of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development, Mr Tshenolo Mabeo on behalf of the Minister of Mineral Resources, Green Technology and Energy Security.

Mr Mabeo stated that with regard to adjustment of fuel prices, the Authority, in conjunction with the Department of Energy, conducts periodic reviews of tariffs, and submits the findings and recommendations to his office for consideration and approval.

MP for Nkange, Mr Edwin Batshu asked the minister to apprise the House on the role played by BERA in the adjustment of fuel prices. ENDS
