Board receives 7 438 applications
09 Apr 2019
Assistant Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitation, Mr Itumeleng Moipisi says 7 438 applications were received at the land board for Morwa village from 2014 to date while 154 plots were allocated during the same period.
Responding to a question in Parliament, Mr Moipisi indicated that he could not state how many of those allocated were of Morwa as the land board started categorizing people by place of origin effective April 1, 2016.
This, he said, was done in line with the Presidential Directive 29 (B) 2015 and implementation had not been village specific, but rather people originating from Kgatleng.
He said following the effect of the directive, only seven plots had been allocated in Morwa so far and the allotted were all Bakgatla.
Mochudi West legislator, Mr Gilbert Mangole had asked the minister to state the number of residential plot applications submitted to land board for Morwa village in the past five years and how many were allocated in the same period.
Mr Mangole also requested to know the number of applicants for people originating from Morwa as well as the number of plots allocated to them. ENDS
