Masisi explains why Btv aired BDP congress

The recent national congress of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) in Maun was broadcast in full on Botswana Television (Btv) as it featured a national address by the State President and follow up discussions by the congress.
Presidential affairs and public administration minister, Mr Mokgweetsi Masisi said this when responding to a question from Francistown South MP, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi. “Therefore, I do not see how this can be described as abuse of government resources by the ruling party,” he added.
Mr Mmolotsi had asked the minister why Btv aired a special programme for the BDP congress when the same was not extended to BMD after their congress in May.
Francistown South MP had also wanted to know whether this was not abuse of government resources by the ruling party. Ends
