Waterborne toilets problem no more

12 Aug 2013

The problem of waterborne toilets at Artesia Primary School has now been solved, local government and rural development assistant minister, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso, has said.

“The toilets have been maintained, connected with water and were handed over to the school management for use on August 6, 2013,” she said, after admitting that the toilets had never been used since they were constructed under the drought programme in 2004.

Ms Tshireletso, who was responding to a question from Kgatleng West MP, Mr Gilbert Mangole, explained that the toilets remained unused for such a long time because when they were constructed there was no provision for water connection.

Mr Mangole had wanted to know whether the minister was aware that waterborne toilets at Artesia Primary School had never been used and that they had been badly vandalised.

Kgatleng West MP had also wanted the minister to state the reasons and the action she intended to take to render such facilities functional. Ends
