Autlwetse donates school uniform at Mabeleapudi

28 Mar 2019

MP for Serowe North and Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse recently donated school uniform to learners of Mabeleapudi and Motetshwane primary schools.

The donation, which followed Mr Autlwetse’s appeal to the World Group of Companies, also included blankets and sweets for all teachers, non-teaching staff, PTA members, VDC members and dikgosana of both villages.

Each pupil received two pairs of shoes, pants, dresses, socks, jerseys and packets of sweets.

The MP said he was prompted to make the request because he wanted all pupils, regardless of economic status, to wear uniform, saying some were predisposed to poverty.

The donations were received by 630 pupils at Mabeleapudi primary, including reception class pupils, and 622 at Motetshwane primary school  in Serowe.

Mr Autlwetse said the uniform would give all the children dignity and encourage them to attend school regularly and attain good results.

He mentioned that in the previous years, he had donated school uniform to some schools in his constituency and only two schools, Mabeleapudi and Matetshwane were left.

He commended the World Group of Companies for the good gesture and encouraged the private sector to lend a helping hand to the country’s education.

He said he was committed to doing more for his constituency, promising to also help create employment for the youth in the area by establishing small businesses for them. Ends
