Movers shock Wandy Wandy
25 Mar 2019
In a game that no one saw coming, last placed Real Movers hammered log leaders 3-1 in the Debswana First Division North encounter played at the Continental Grounds in Mmadinare recently.
Wanderers had not lost a game since climbing the league summit and expectations were for them to continue with their winning streak until they qualified to the top league.
The encounter against Real Movers was part of the last four games remaining for the Palapye based Wanderers as they have been on a good run to secure promotion to the elite BTC premiership league.
Of the four teams that were part of the remaining four fixtures for Oris Radipotsane led charges, Movers were the least likely to beat the log leaders.
Real Movers have won two games from 19 matches, drew five and lost 12 matches.
The loss of Wandy Wandy, as Morupule Wanderers is known, was cheered at the fully packed Francistown old stadium at a game between second placed Tafic and cross-town rivals, Calendar Stars.
Tafic wasted no time in climbing to the league summit after being dethroned on February 17 by Wanderers.
They buried Stars in an avalanche of goals beating them 4-0 courtesy of a brace by captain, Uyapo Dekesha and another brace by Mogomotsi Samson.
As it stands Tafic are back to the top of the Debswana First Division North, and are hoping to stay there by winning their last three matches with the hope that Wanders would keep losing or drawing in their last three fixtures.
The two teams are now separated by two points only after being separated by a solitary point for the past five games.
Tafic is leading the pack with 48 points while Morupule Wanderers is second placed with 46 points. ENDS
