Employee productivity vital to service delivery

Central District Council Secretary, Mr Godimo Garegope says public servants must exert more effort when providing services to the public.
He said this during Palapye Administrative Authority (PAA) awards recently.
Mr Garegope said public servants should serve the public effectively with good customer care ethics.
He further eencouraged them to desist from coming to work late and later on knocking off early adding that some had the tendency of doing personal errands during working hours.
That, he said stop adding that supervisors should take appropriate actions.Also, he said some officers were also not working effectively as they spend most of the time on social media.
“Leadership in departments must hold civil servants accountable for misconduct,” he said.
He challenged officers to improve their work ethics.
He further encouraged them to dress appropriately. Mr Garegope also encouraged teamwork among employees adding that they should render services efficiently and effectively to the public.
Meanwhile, Mr Garegope has commended awards recipients saying the awards were meant to motivate deserving officers and to encourage to do their best.
For his part the PAA senior assistant council secretary, Mr Lucky Maoto also emphasised the importance of teamwork.
He said officers should work hard at all times.
He encouraged those who did not receive awards to work harder.
Makoro Bricks general manager, Ms Dorcus Mosesha, who was the guest speaker, urged public servants to pursue their obligations wholeheatedly and with care.
She said their approach to work would determine what kind of a person the employee was.
If they do their work effectively, she said they would recognised for their effort by customers and supervisors. ENDS
