BDF Cats continue dominance
12 Aug 2013
Will there ever be a team that will topple BDF Cats netball outfit or are we yet to have a team that can outclass it? Only time would tell.
As the Spar Netball League games continued over the weekend at BONA courts, the team continued its winning streak beating Flying Doves 76-17.
The team proved to be a hard nut to crack because none of the teams matched its play. Composed of some of the national team players, BDF Cats boasted of well-intended players though they did not display sufficient tactics.
Such dominance resulted in games without fireworks, excitement and drama unlike in a situation where two teams pitted against each other would battle for a win and at the same time giving fans a chance to put their prediction skills to test.
During the weekend games, UB Crystals, Notwane and Prisons displayed good play though Notwane appeared the better of them. When either of the two teams was pitted against Notwane, there was not much dominance from any of them thus making the game worth watching and cheering.
The first game of the day that was played under calm weather conditions saw Notwane beat UB Crystals 56-48. Notwane took the lead through its star player, Tumisang Bagidi. Though the game started slow, UB Crystal’s goal attacker, Portia Rasekhumba turned every ball that landed into her hands into a goal.
Rasekhumba later wore the wing attacker bib after the center player sustained an injury and the new goal attacker displayed better play, going into the pitch and driving balls home. Notwane later played against weak PUBS, walloping it 114-3.
Prior to summing up the games by humiliating Flying Doves 64-26, Prisons had suffered a loss at the hands of UB Crystals with a margin of 13 goals (50-37). Ends
