Driving test bookings lengthen queues

24 Mar 2019

Minister of Transport and Communications Ms Dorcas Makgato has admitted that there were lengthy queues resulting in people registering to get first preference for motor vehicle registration assistance in the middle of the night in Mochudi.

This, she said, was common on Mondays since that is the day dedicated for driving tests and theory writing bookings. “To address this, the ministry uses customers’ cell numbers to send reminders about renewing licenses on time. In addition, her ministry has an ongoing partnership with 127 BotswanaPost offices and 14 Sefalana store kiosks, both of which offer license renewal services. MP for Mochudi East, Mr Moagi Molebatsi had asked the minister if she was aware that customers in Mochudi had to queue in the middle of the night for services from Department of Road Transport and Safety offices and what was being done about the situation.
