President consoles bereaved families

24 Mar 2019

President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has described the late Mr Gaseikangwe Marumo of Moshupa as a man who was fair, but firm and principled.

Conveying his condolences to the bereaved family on March 22, he described Mr Marumo as a friend to all as well as a dedicated and hard working person, who was compassionate about farming, adding that he did a lot of things meritoriously.

President Masisi said he was thus saddened to hear of Mr Marumo’s sudden demise.

“Our hearts are with you in this time of sorrow. Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your loved one.

Words cannot express how saddened we are to hear of such a loss,” he said.

The President noted that bereavement was a time when the bereaved needed to trust in God the most. Mr Marumo succumbed to an illness on March 17.

The President also visited the family of the late Ms Mmenyane Kesenye of Moshupa, whom he described as humble, hardworking, compassionate, friendly and a mother to all.

Ms Kesenye, 96, affectionately called Mmatoro, also passed on last Sunday.

President Masisi said Ms Kesenye had lived a purposeful life and completed her assignment on earth. He said she was exemplary in numerous ways and implored Batswana to borrow a leaf from her.

Ms Kesenye, he said, had seen great grandchildren becoming reputable people in the society because she taught them love, respect and other nitty-gritties of life.  He credited her for being a pioneer in development.

Family representatives of Marumo and Kesenye Messrs Richard Nkae and Mokganedi Gareosenye respectively thanked the President for finding time to comfort the two families despite his demanding schedule. ends
