20 Mar 2019
Parliament has been informed that Kgatleng River Villages Rapid Skills Development Centre will be considered in subsequent national development plans, budget permitting.
This was said by the Minister of Employment, Labour Productivity and Skills Development, Mr Tshenolo Mabeo in Parliament on March 19.
He explained that government through Directive Cab 36/2006 undertook to establish Technical Colleges in Kgatleng River villages; Khakhea, Pitshane Molopo, Boteti, Ngami and Tswapong North. However, he said, the project for establishment of Technical Colleges was not accommodated in NDP 10 and 11 due to budgetary constraints.
In response to a question from MP for Mochudi- East, Mr Moagi Molebatsi, Minister Mabeo said Presidential Directive Cab 10(A)/2017 rationalised Madirelo Testing Training Centers (MTTC), Construction Industry Trust Funds (CITF) and Brigades, and that resulted in the introduction of Rapid Skills Development Centers for the purpose of providing modularized competency based vocational training to Batswana at large.Mr Molebatsi had asked the minister when he intends to build a brigade between Malolwane and Ramonaka villages as it had been promised.
