Mochudi-Malotwana road re-tender starts
20 Mar 2019
Minister of Transport and Communications, Ms Dorcas Makgato says the tender for rehabilitation of Mochudi-Malotwana road has gone through the tendering process.
Ms Makgato said the tender was floated on May 12, 2017 and closed on June 9, 2017 and thereafter, there was a delay in assembling an evaluation team for the tenders and were finally evaluated in October 2018.
Answering a question in Parliament on March 19, she said the tender was never awarded to any contracting entity, stating that at the time when the award was to have been made in December 2018, an assessment of the road showed that it had deteriorated significantly and the scope of work was therefore different and a decision was then made to rescope and retender. “
The new tender document is being prepared. We expect procurement will be completed in April /May and the construction works will begin in June/July this year,” she said. MP Gilbert Mangole of Mochudi West had asked the minister to state when the tendering and evaluation of Mochudi-Malotwana road was done and the awarding of the tender, and whom it was awarded to and when the construction of the road would commence.
