Nkange and Moses Mengwe junior secondary schools will be maintained in the 2019/20 financial year.

Answering a parliamentary question on behalf of the Minister of Basic Education, Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs, Governance and Public Administration, Mr Machana Shamukuni said needs analysis exercise and scoping was being conducted in those schools. Mr Shamukuni said Pandagala, Denjebuya and Goshwe schools were to be maintained again in 2021/2022 financial year as per the ministry’s plan.

He said the Ministry of Basic Education had decided to empower school heads with funds for daily maintenance to ameliorate the challenges faced in schools and those funds would be disbursed in April 2019.MP Edwin Batshu of Nkange had wanted to know when the Ministry of Basic Education would do cyclic maintenance at Nkange, Moses Mengwe, Goshwe, Pandagala and Denjebuya Junior Secondary Schools as they were in a state of despair.
